Substantial changes included in MDS 3.0 version 1.18.11 are forcing providers nationwide to rethink processes for communication and documentation, to capture new data for the MDS.
MDS changes will not only impact Medicare reimbursement; significant changes to case mix methodologies will affect SNF Medicaid reimbursement as well. The State of
Connecticut recently announced, CT SNFs will need to
complete an additional assessment – the Optional State
Assessment (OSA) – to obtain a RUG calculation for
Medicaid reimbursement.
Proactive providers will be better prepared for the changes and will mitigate potential revenue losses. Join this session to learn what you can do now, to position your facility to be successful on 10/1. Attendees will leave this session with actionable steps to put into operation.
Objectives:
- Identify significant changes to the MDS 3.0 version 1.18.11 and impacts on Medicare and Medicaid revenue.
- Examine changes to interdisciplinary processes required to capture new MDS items, and detail strategies to implement now.
- Review of the OSA MDS item set.
