| Please join us for a review and discussion of a recent study of hospice use by Connecticut nursing home residents. Drs. Ellis Dillon and Julie Robison from the University of Connecticut Center on Aging will be sharing the results of a research study focused on hospice care for people with nursing home stays and asking for your advice on how to improve hospice care and end-of-life care for people with nursing home stays. The presentation will include overview of statewide data on hospice care in nursing homes and lessons learned from interviews with professionals at Connecticut nursing homes and hospice agencies. We will discuss how nursing home and hospice agency individual team members and organizational structure influence hospice care and the need for education and new solutions to improve end-of-life care for people with nursing home stays and their families.
